Dear Western and Orangeview Families,
As we approach the upcoming school year, we want to take a moment to share how tirelessly our teams have
been working to ensure a smooth and successful start. At Western and Orangeview, our staff and district have
been dedicated to preparing for an incredible year ahead, and we are excited about the progress being made.
To keep you informed, we will be providing regular updates at our monthly Redesign Meetings. These
meetings are the first Friday of every month at 9:00am at Western HS (3/7/25 and 4/4/25)and every second
Thursday via Zoom at 6:00pm (3/13/25, 4/19/25). See attached flier. These updates will include answers to
frequently asked questions, to clarify any misconceptions, and highlights of the hard work happening behind
the scenes.
We are especially excited to share new opportunities for students at all grade levels. Next year, students will
have access to expanded programs such as:
● Link Crew, Associated Student Body (ASB), Student RSVP, and AIME
○ All designed to foster leadership, school involvement, and peer mentoring.
○ Additionally, we are increasing access to advanced courses
● Increase access to A-G courses for all students (including World Language and Career Technical Education)
● Expanding the number of available A-G courses from 21 to a possible 25
● More Dual Enrollment opportunities
○ Allowing them to earn college credit while still in high school at no CHARGE
● Expanding AIME internships
○ Giving students valuable hands-on experience and career exposure.
To kick things off, we will be sharing some promising new practices that students and families can look forward
to. These updates will showcase the exciting improvements designed to enhance the learning experience and
create the best year ever for our students.
